We took Paris in after she was found stray in a local town, her owners were located but had just recently taken her from someone to use for breeding and realize that she was quite elderly, ill, and they couldn’t afford her medical needs.
We stepped up and were hopeful that we would be able to help little Paris, but a vet exam showed that she had a large tumor in her abdomen, could’ve been as old is 18 years old, and had several mammary masses as well. The vet did everything she could to give her comfort, but we knew that surgery just wasn’t a good option. She spent a couple of weeks being spoiled and pampered in a foster home by a foster mom who loved her dearly. Today we made the difficult decision to say goodbye after she had a sudden decline.
We are very, very grateful to the animal control officer who thought of us as a resource to help little Paris. We knew it wasn’t likely that she would find a forever home, but we also knew that she was as deserving of love and kindness as any cute puppy is. We want to send a huge hug and thank you to her foster mom– she just told us that even if she had known what the outcome would be on the day she committed to taking Paris, she would do it again in a heartbeat and that she loved every moment that this lovely little girl was with her.
