Sweet Sophie was adopted from us as a special-needs senior, and spent 18 months being treated like a princess on a beautiful farm in New Hampshire with a dad who gave her a life second to none. She passed away from complications of heart disease, and we’re grateful that the last 18 months of her life were spent in doggy paradise.
We got the sad news on the Fourth of July at our little alumni Timba had passed away in a tragic accident. Her family is absolutely heartbroken. Timba was a sweet, loving, royal family member, and we know how much she’ll be missed.
We heard the sad news today that our beautiful alumni, Max, has passed away. He was adopted nine years ago at the age of seven after being surrendered for aggression- we brought him into foster care to evaluate, and his foster mom saw his nasty side, but she also saw a sweet, loving, loyal, happy side to Max that she was able to develop fully, and Max blossomed into a really amazing dog. His foster mom adopted him and has giveb him nine years of unconditional love, and we know she’s heartbroken by his passing. We send our love and condolences.
Oscar came to us from an awful situation, a backyard breeder who kept his dogs in deplorable conditions, and one of our volunteers drove over four hours each way to save him. Unfortunately he was very strongly heartworm positive, and he really struggled with his heartworm treatment.
We finally got him healthy and he was adopted by a beautiful family who gave him the life and love he never had. He had some health issues because his heartworm had gone untreated for so long, and although he got the best of care in his new home, he took a turn for the worse earlier this week. Oscar, we’re so sorry you didn’t come to us sooner! And we want to send our love and condolences to Oscar’s family.
Gremlin came to us as a little old man after being found a stray in a local city. He had a whole host of health issues, but that didn’t stop him from being a sweet, loving, friendly little boy! He was adopted by a beautiful family, and he got a new job providing comfort to people experiencing mental health difficulties. His parents adored him! He passed away after a catastrophic stroke, and is dearly missed.
Our sweet, special alumni Hope has passed away. She came to us over three years ago after being found stray in a local community and no one is looking for her. A good Samaritan saved her, we brought her into foster care and took care of a hernia and some other health issues, and then she found a mom who just adored her!
Hope has led the best life for the last 3 1/2 years. She stole the heart of everyone who met her, and was a loving, gentle, darling little girl that we all adored. Hope, you were one-of-a-kind! We know how much your mom is going to miss you and we want to thank her for giving you such an awesome life. We’re glad we could be a small part of your rescue story.
Not all of our dogs find a forever home. Sometimes the best we can do is give love and comfort and a dignified end. Sadie came to us on Christmas Day after her former owners turned this 13-year-old blind girl into a high kill Arkansas shelter. One of our volunteers drove 400 miles to pick her up! Sadie deserved better, and her foster dad fell in love with this gentle, quiet, grateful little lady.
She spent her days sleeping on the softest, most comfortable bed in the house, and she was spoiled with yummy soft food. She passed away in her sleep last week next to the foster dad adored her. We want to thank him for making sure Sadie knew that she was loved right up until she took her last breath. Sadie, RIP.
