The FOHA in RI family wishes you a wonderful holiday season. We are thankful for friends like you, who have opened your homes and your hearts to pets in need.
It has been a challenging year for our rescue and yet through the tireless work of our all volunteer group FOHA managed to find loving homes for almost 1200 pets. Pictured below are just two examples of our happy endings— there’s Georgia, a Boston Terrier rescued from a Missouri puppy mill where she lived in a cage, repeatedly bred until she almost died from an infection and sheer exhaustion. And Donatello, who along with his brothers Michelangelo and Leonardo was dumped on the side of the road in Mississippi and almost starved to death, now enjoying his first Christmas with his loving family.
But there are always so many more that need our help. Turning away pets is devastating—to leave an anxious dog or cat at a high kill shelter is heartbreaking. This year also saw an uptick in owner surrenders. Without a rescue to help, pets are at risk of being dumped or ending up in potentially dangerous home.
That’s where you come in, that’s why your year end gift is so important. While we always appreciate donations of food, collars and the like what makes the difference are funds to pay for vet care and transportation, our biggest expenses.
By giving a tax-deductible gift of $25, $50, $100 or more you can be confident that every dollar will go toward saving as many helpless pets as possible.

We hope, too, you will consider joining us- we always need volunteers. We NEVER have enough foster homes. If you or someone you know would like to become a foster family please complete our application at:

Even if you can’t foster, there are so many ways to help. We need volunteers to transport and do home visits, assist at adoption fairs. Perhaps you have experience in fundraising or web design.
